Nubian Goats Sold

Romaine was a favorite doe who died last Fall. Fortunately I have several daughters to continue her line. She appraised with a final score of 88, V E V V in 2016 and has a permanent score of 90 V E E E. As a seven-year old, she produced 1664 lbs of milk (58P, 81F) in 184 days.

This large red doe is so easy to milk! She has been a top producer at our farm for a number of years. Her 2016 milk record as an eight-year old was 363 2858 114P 138F. At last year's Linear Appraisal she scored with FS 90, V E E E.

Statin is another good milker who always looks a bit goofy with her tongue sticking out. Despite her expression, she scored well at appraisal with a FS of 87 V E E V (permanent score of 90, V E E E). As a six-year old, she milked 456 2002 87P 105F.

Alsike is a black doe who practically milks herself she is so easy. She produced 1985 lbs of milk (83P, 115F) in 274 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 86 V VV +. Alsike kidded in April with quads - three does and a buckling, all different colors.

Tunesia is another easy milker who produced 2801 lbs of milk (117P, 178F) in 545 days in 2016. In 2017 she produced 2110 lbs of milk (86P, 114F) in 305 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 86 V E E +. Her 2017 Linear Appraisal score was 86 V + E V. Tunesia was milked through and was not appraised this August (too stale).

Yukon is a third freshener who kidded mid-June. She produced 2223 lbs of milk (78P, 106F) in 356 days as a first freshener. She aborted a month before her due date for her second freshening but still produced 1710 lbs of milk (74F, 58P) in 367 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 85 (+ V + V). Yukon kidded on 6/13/18 with a buck and a doe. Her completed lactation was 292 1092 43P 52F. She was appraised in August 2018 with a final score of 85 (V,V,A,+). Yukon was bred to Joules and is due on 7/5/19.

Semolina completed her first year milking with 237 1806 70P 94F. Her appraisal score in 2017 was 85 (V,+,V,+). She earned her Superior Genetics designation as a first freshener! She was appraised in August 2018 with a final score of 86 (V,E,V,+). Her completed 2018 lactation was 291 1262 45P 60F She kidded in March this year with quads - a buckling and three doelings. One doeling is available.

Spelt aborted one month before her due date in 2016. She came into milk 10 days later so we have production data for her. In 277 days she produced 1150 lbs of milk with 67 lbs of butterfat and 46 lbs of protein. She was appraised as young stock in 2016. Her overall rating was V; V, EC, V. In 2017 after milking for 9 months, she appraised with 82 (+,+,V,+). In 2018, she kidded with twins; a buck and a doe. Her milk record was: 288 1542 78P 57F. In 2019, Spelt kidded with twin does in April. One doe kid is available.

Chickpea was appraised in 2016 as young stock. Her overall rating was V; V, V, V. As a first freshener (8 months fresh), she scored 83 (V,A,V, +). She completed her first year milking with a record of 356 1614 4.3P 5.5 F. She kidded last year (2018) with a buck and a doeling. She was appraised in August with a final score of 86 (V,E,+,+). She completed her first lactation with 376 1449 55F 67P. She has been bred to Gill and is due on July 8.

Millet was appraised in 2016 as young stock. Her overall rating was EC; V, EC, EC. As a first freshener with 8 month's of milking, she appraised in 2017 with 81 (V,A,E,+). Millet was dried off early because of stubborn sub-clinical mastitis. She has kidded last year (2018) with a buckling and two doelings. She appraised in August with a final score of 87 (V,E,E,+). She milked for 336 days with 841 33P 36F. She kidded this year with a single doe kid which I am keeping.

Radicchio is a large doe with a very soft, easy to milk udder. She was too fresh to appraise in 2017 but appraised in 2015 with 87 VVEV. Her 2017 lactation yielded 1289 lbs of milk (46P, 52F) in 210 days.

This doe, sired by Pharaoh has grown very well. She has a lovely topline and is very correct. Her dam is Radicchio, a large doe with a very soft, easy to milk udder. She was too fresh to appraise in 2017 but appraised in 2015 with 87 VVEV. Fennel was bred for winter milk to Macintosh and kidded in early January with twin does.

The dam, Vetch, is a large reddish brown doe with a nice udder that is easy to milk. Vetch produced 3444 lbs of milk (141P 178F) in 603 days. Her 2018 Linear Appraisal score was 91 E E E E as a seven year old. The sire is Pharaoh. As with the other Pharaoh kids, Tamarind has a very correct topline and has grown well. We have bred Tamarind for winter milk. She kidded in January with a single doe.

Ginger is a medium sized red doe with a nicely shaped udder. She freshened with three kids (all sold). She was appraised for the first time in August 2018 with a final score of 88 (V,E,E,V). She completed her first lactation with 464 1352 56P 74F. We were not appraised in 2019. Ginger completed her 2019 lactation with 251 1057 40P 54F. Ginger was bred to Rummy and kidded in April with a single buck kid. We were not appraised in 2020. Ginger completed her 2020 lactation with 259 1479 56P 69F. Ginger was bred to Obie and kidded with 2 bucklings on 3/24/21. On her first milk test of this year, she milked 7.7 lbs.

Decibel (Bel) is the daughter of Gloaming Romaine's Yukon and Desoteaux CPL Pharaoh. Yukon produced 2223 lbs of milk (78P, 106F) in 356 days as a first freshener. She aborted a month before her due date for her second freshening but still produced 1710 lbs of milk (74F, 58P) in 367 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 85 (+ V + V). Bel is a very flashy spotted doe with a very correct topline and set to her legs. Bel has had an extended lactation and has milked 2267 lbs in 493 days with 100 lbs of butterfat and 86 lbs of protein. She was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V V V + 86. Galeras is a young doe with strong conformation. Her dam, Saffron, milked very well as a first freshener - 315 2596 95 P, 110 F. We didn't have the goats appraised last year so I can't show you how nice her dam is. She freshened in December and later developed mastitis so we dried her off. She can be rebred for the Fall.

Envy's dam is Poppy, a large black roan doe who was easy to milk. We have no appraisal score for her as we were not appraised in 2019. Poppy completed her 2019 lactation with 235 1035 40P 52F. Envy's sire was Gill, a beautiful, loudly marked buck. Envy kidded in January 2022 with mastitis. We treated her, dried her off, and rebred her in October. Envy kidded in March 2023 with quads. She is currently milking 6 lbs/day. She is slightly overweight since she had a long dry period. She is CAE negative. Andrea Prill in Tamworth

Alara's dam is a large red-brown doe with a nice body and udder. She has not had Linear Appraisal. Volt milked 1734 lbs in 296 days (first lactation). Obie is a very correct yearling buck with a gorgeous dam.

Sunapee's dam is Lumen who, in 2020, produced 2076 lbs of milk in 348 days with 98 lbs of butterfat and 75 lbs of protein as a first freshener. lumen was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V E V V 87. Sunapee's sire is Obie whose dam, VVFarm My Darling, is one of the nicest of the very nice goats at Valley View Farm. Her udder is so well shaped, soft and productive. She was appraised V E V E 90. Obie's full sister VVFarm Sugarbowl was appraised as a first freshener with an E in mammary and a final score of 86. Obie was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V V E 87. Sunapee gave 1778 lbs of milk with 4.0% protein and 5.2% butterfat in 253 days. She was appraised in August 2024 and scored G, G, V, G with a final score of 83. She is CAE negative. As a second freshener, Sunapee has given us 1310 lbs of milk in 182 days and is projected to provide us with 1914 lbs. Sold to Meridith Currier

Kearsarge's dam is Volt with a nice body and a nice udder. Volt freshened in February 2021 and produced 2375 lbs of milk in 322 days with 104 lbs of butterfat and 81 lbs of protein. She was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V E V E 90. Kearsarge's sire is Obie whose dam, VVFarm My Darling, is one of the nicest of the very nice goats at Valley View Farm. Her udder is so well shaped, soft and productive. She was appraised V E V E 90. Obie's full sister VVFarm Sugarbowl was appraised as a first freshener with an E in mammary and a final score of 86. Obie was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V V E 87. Kearsarge has given us 4392 lbs of milk with 4.0% protein and 5.0% butterfat in 487 days. We decided to extend her lactation to ensure winter milk. She was appraised in August 2024 and scored G, A, G, G with a final score of 83. She is CAE negative. Moriah's dam is Winesap, a lovely red doe with a nice udder. Winesap was appraised in August 2018 with a final score was 87 (V,V,+,V). Moriah's sire is Pelee (Hooper). Pelee's dam was SG Gloaming Valium's Vetch who was a wonderful aged doe. Pelee was appraised as a 2 year old in August 2021. His score was + V V 85. Moriah gave us 1899 lbs of milk with 3.5% protein and 4.3% butterfat in 293 days. She was appraised in August 2024 and scored G, G, V, V with a final score of 86. She is CAE negative. Cabot's dam is one of my favorites, Cilantro is and excellent milker and did well on our last Linear Appraisal. Booker, Cabot's sire, was our "junior" buck. Cabot is his first daughter in milk. She has given 2372 lbs of milk with 3.8% protein and 4.4% butterfat in 330 days. She was appraised G, G, V, G with a final score of 83 as a first freshener. She is CAE negative. Cerveza is the daughter of a really nice doe, Amantitare (Amie) and Booker whose daughter have given a lot of milk as first fresheners. She has been bred to Onyx and is expected to kid around December for winter milk. sold to Meridith Currier

Chestnut is a large yearling buck who has had no difficulties in covering any of my older does. He was appraised this year with a score of 86 VV+. His dam, Gloaming Valium's Vetch, is a Superior Genetics doe (PTI 48 48) who appraised at 90 VEEE this year, despite having been in milk for over 400 days. His sire is Descoteaux SD Luke who appraised at 87 V+E as a two-year old. We are using Chestnut to breed does in our herd until we sell him. At the moment, we have too many bucks.

McIntosh's sire is Descoteaux SD Luke who was appraised as a three year old with FS 87 (V,+,E). His dam is SG Gloaming Seine's Rye who has milked over 2300 lbs in her last two lactations and appraised as a five year old with FS 89 (V,E,V,V). He was one of quads (two bucks and two does).

Racoon's name was supposed to be Macoun as this was an apple year for naming but ADGA wasn't able to read my writing. He is a full brother to McIntosh. Racoon's sire is Descoteaux SD Luke who was appraised as a three year old with FS 87 (V,+,E). His dam is SG Gloaming Seine's Rye who has milked over 2300 lbs in her last two lactations and appraised as a five year old with FS 89 (V,E,V,V). He was one of quads (two bucks and two does).

"Roanie" is a large, personable buck who scored well at last year's Linear Appraisal as a yearling: FS 86 V E V. His dam is SG Gloaming Statin's Bibb. His sire is Descoteaux Luke.

Morocco is a large, gentle "Guido" son. His 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 87 V V E. We have used him extensively for this year's kids. We do not yet have any milking daughters however his sire was ranked #9 on the USDA sire summary in 2013.

Pharaoh is very striking buck with his large patches of color on a white background. His sire is *B Lynnehaven KB Crown Point Light and his dam is Kecskemet SD Amneris. Pharaoh has sired some growthy kids with very correct toplines.

Gill is the son of Semolina and Pharaoh. Semolina was a first freshener who was appraised as young stock in 2016. Her final score was V; V EC EC. After completing her first year milking, her record was 237 1806 3.9P 5.2 F. Her appraisal score in 2017 was 85 (V,+,V,+). She earned her Superior Genetics designation as a first freshener! She was appraised in August 2018 with a final score of 86 (V,E,V,+). Gill is a loudly marked brown and white buck who could do good things in your herd! He has been tested and is G6D (N/N) - normal - not a carrier. We have been using him this Fall and Winter. His kids are showing lots of color!!

This brown and white young buck is the son of one of my best does, Rye. She has earned her SG designation and has consistently appraised in the high 80's and low 90's. We have been using him to breed some of our older does this Fall and Winter. His first kids are due in April. He has been tested and is G6D (N/N) - normal, not a carrier.

Gloaming Saffron’s Blanton is a promising young herd sire. He is CAE negative and is G6S normal. Blanton was appraised as a yearling in August 2021 with a score of + V V 83. His dam, Saffron has a very correct topline and a lovely udder. She produced 2596 lbs of milk in 315 days as a first freshener. Saffron has had an extended lactation and has produced 2880 lbs of milk in 408 days with 126 lbs of butterfat and 105 lbs of protein. She was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V E E V 90. Blanton’s sire was Fox’s Pride FG/SF Ginn Rummy. Rummy is a big boy! He is a red roan with white ears and black shoulders and facial markings. He is a Frosty Marvin grandson. He has been tested for G6S and is normal (not a carrier). He was appraised in 2018 and scored V E V 89. We are asking $450 for Blanton.

Dram is the daughter of Gloaming Mesclun's Crocus (Crows) and Descoteaux CPL Pharaoh. Crows, as she is called in our barn is a large, easy to milk doe. She produced 2531 lbs of milk (111P, 156F) in 600 days. In her next freshening she produced 2170 lbs of milk (88P, 118F) in 379 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 85 V + E +. Her 2017 Linear Appraisal score was 87 V V V V and her 2018 appraisal score was 89 V E V V. Dram is red like her mom but has a white strip over her shoulders.

Amanitore's dam, Toby, has a beautiful body and udder. She has been on test for only 2 months so I don't have a milk record for her but Toby gave 7.6 lbs of milk on her last test.

Alodia's dam, Stromboli< has a great body and udder. She has been on test for only 2 months so I don't have a milk record for her but she gave 6.2 lbs of milk on her last test.

Kerma's dam is a large red-brown doe with a nice body and udder. She has not be through Linear Appraisal. She milked 1734 lbs in 296 days (first lactation). Obie is a very correct yearling buck with a gorgeous dam.

Madison's dam is Bel a very flashy spotted doe with a very correct topline and set to her legs. Bel had an extended lactation and has milked 2267 lbs in 493 days with 100 lbs of butterfat and 86 lbs of protein. She was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V V V + 86. Bel milked 8.0 lbs in her last test. Maddy was born on 12/23/21, one of a set of quads. She has been sold to Phyllis Potter.

Moosilauke's dam is Volt who is a red doe with a white elbow, a nice body, and a nice udder. She completed her 2020 lactation with 1734 lbs of milk in 296 days with 79 lbs of butterfat and 60 lbs of protein. She freshened in February 2021 and produced 2375 lbs of milk in 322 days with 104 lbs of butterfat and 81 lbs of protein. She was appraised in August 2021 with a score of V E V E 90. Montejo's sire is Pelee. Pelee's dam was SG Gloaming Valium's Vetch who is a wonderful aged doe. She last appraised in 2018 at 7 yrs with a 91 for the final score. She was an easy and very consistent milker. We expect good things from this herd sire. Pelee (or Hooper, as he is known around the barn) was appraised as a 2 year old in August 2021. His score was + V V 85. We were appraised in September 2023 while Hooper was in full rut. He scored G,V,E with a final score of 84. Montejo's dam is Cabot. Cabot's dam is one of my favorites, Cilantro. Cilantro is an excellent milker and did well on our last Linear Appraisal. Booker, Cabot's sire is our "junior" buck. She was appraised in August 2018 with a final score of 86 (V,E,V,+). Mayon is a full sister to Gill. Mayon kidded in December 2020 with a bad case of mastitis. After treating it a number of times, we decided to dry her off and rebreed her. Despite being dry, she was appraised in August 2021 and scored V + E V 86. Mayon kidded in December 2021 with a single doe kid which I am keeping.

We do not yet have any milking daughters; however his sire was ranked #9 on the USDA sire summary in 2013.

Ounce is the daughter of Gloaming Mesclun's Crocus (Crows) and Descoteaux CPL Pharaoh. Crows, as she is called in our barn is a large, easy to milk doe. She produced 2531 lbs of milk (111P, 156F) in 600 days. In her next freshening she produced 2170 lbs of milk (88P, 118F) in 379 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 85 V + E +. Her 2017 Linear Appraisal score was 87 V V V V and her 2018 appraisal score was 89 V E V V. Ounce is red like her mom but has some white spots on her flanks.

This lovely doe kid is the daughter of SG Gloaming Valium's Vetch and Descoteaux CPL Pharaoh. Vetch is our best doe, a large reddish brown doe with a nice udder that is easy to milk. Vetch produced 3444 lbs of milk (141P 178F) in 603 days. Her 2018 Linear Appraisal score was 91 E E E E as a seven year old. Her full sisters are Tamarind, Saffron, and Lumen.

Pinatubo is the daughter of Gloaming Romaine's Yukon and Gloaming Rye's Joule. Yukon is a third freshener who kidded mid-June. She produced 2223 lbs of milk (78P, 106F) in 356 days as a first freshener. She aborted a month before her due date for her second freshening but still produced 1710 lbs of milk (74F, 58P) in 367 days. Her 2016 Linear Appraisal score was 85 (+ V + V). She matured a lot since then. Yukon did not freshen in2018 but was milked through. She was appraised in August with a final score of 85 (V,V,A,+). Pinatubo is a very pretty grey doe with a very correct topline.

Alibi's dam is Poppy, a large black roan doe who is easy to milk. We have no appraisal score for her as we were not appraised in 2019. Poppy completed her 2019 lactation with 235 1035 40P 52F. Poppy was bred to Gill and kidded on 2/19/20 with two doe kids (neither is available). So far in her 2020 lactation she has milked 497 lbs in 120 days. Poppy's dam, Iceberg, was one of my all-time favorite does. Her dam, Iceberg, has a permanent score of 89, V V E E. As a six-year old, Iceberg milked 598 3284 140P 183F. Poppy's sire is Durham, a large, personable buck who scored well at last year's Linear Appraisal as a yearling: FS 86 V E V. We were not appraised in 2019. Poppy completed her lactation with 235 1035 40P 52F. Again, we were not appraised in 2020. Poppy completed her 2020 lactation with 347 1333 55P 62F. Poppy kidded this year (2021) and milked 6.5 lbs on her last test. Poppy is an easy milker.

Meroe's dam is Cilantro, a large black doe with a beautiful udder. We milked Cilantro straight through until she kidded with Meroe because her ultrasound said that she wasn't bred. SURPRISE!! Meroe has given us 3515 lbs of milk with 4.1% protein and 4.8 butterfat in 724 days. She is CAE negative. Meroe was appraised for the first time in September 2023. She scored V,E,V,V with a final of 86. She was appraised again in August 2024 and scored V, V, V, V with a final score of 87. She recently kidded with quads and has not yet had a milk test. As a third freshener, Jebel has provided us with 1224 lbs of milk in 199 days and is projected to give us 1551 lbs of milk.
